Sound Bath Yin with Waverly Davis & Anya Fleshler in The Loft at the Wool Factory with Anya Fleshler
Date: 2/9/2023
From: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Yin Yoga consists of long held postures to bring a deep release of the connective tissue, increasing flexibility and range of motion. These poses get deeper into the joints, not the muscles. We will combine e this practice with a deeply relaxing Sound Bath with a combination of quartz sound bowls and accompanying instruments. This Sound Bath will activate brain waves that will bring you to a deeper state of consciousness and relaxation. The healing frequencies from the sound bath will balance the frequencies of the brain hemispheres and all other parts of the body, bringing inner peace, reducing stress and anxiety, and encouraging deeper and fuller sleep.
What to Bring:
1. 2 blocks
2. Yoga Mat and Blanket for comfort
3. Eye Cover can be helpful for deeper relaxation
Waverly Davis’ sound baths offer a full-body meditative experience with emotional, physical, and mental healing benefits. The vibrations + soundscapes slow brain waves and heart rate, bringing you into deeply relaxed states and supporting reductions in stress and anxiety. People leave her sound baths with a quieted mind, open heart, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves and the world around them. Her sound baths incorporate soundscapes from quartz crystal singing bowls, chimes, a shruti box, gongs, drums, rattles, and additional overtone-emitting instruments. She also weaves in breathwork, guided meditation, visualization, singing, and chanting.
Waverly is a mother, facilitator of sacred spaces + sounds, artist, and podcaster. She has been facilitating sacred spaces + sounds for over 7 years, working with both somatic and spiritual modalities and practices to support her clients. She has studied with and is learning from indigenous medicine people and plant medicines, as well as practitioners of sound healing, breathwork, somatic experiencing, depth hypnosis, and ecstatic dance. ● How to apply Ayurveda to your yoga practice and/or teaching
Ayurveda means “life knowledge.” It is an ancient system for promoting well-being through balance and moderation in diet and lifestyle. It is the sister science of yoga and was developed by the same vedic culture in India that has passed down these practices through teachers and texts for thousands of years. Ayurveda is based on the idea that each person has a unique combination of characteristics, making up a one-of-a-kind constitution or “dosha”. Dosha-specific diet and lifestyle recommendations are used in Ayurveda to maintain wellness and balance in each individual.
Self-care benefits everyone you encounter.
